Arsenal and Sutton United are set to receive £247,500 after their FA Cup fifth round tie was selected for television.

The game, which will be shown live on BBC on Monday, 20 Feb with a 7.55pm kick-off.

When you compare the money paid to teams by TV companies to the prize money involved in the competition, it’s no surprise to see some managers not bother when they aren’t on the tellybox.

For winning in the fifth round, sides are given £180,000 – almost £70k less than they receive from broadcasters.

This rises to £360,000 for the sixth round, £900,00 if you win a semi-final (£450,000 if you lose) and £1.8m for winning the competition. Runners-up receive £900,000.
