Arsenal Ladies have signed Doncaster Rovers Belles goalkeeper, Anna Moorhouse.

A former Everton Ladies and Durham Women’s player, the 21-year-old brings much needed reinforcement in that department to the club and goes straight into the first team.

Arsenal made the announcement on Friday, some 8 days AFTER she was official enough to be in the club photoshoot (see below).

Anna said about signing, “It’s a dream to have signed for Arsenal Ladies. I want to continue to work hard, to develop as a keeper, and to gain as much experience as possible. I can’t wait to get started.”

Manager Pedro Losa added, “We are very pleased to have completed the signing of Anna. She is a powerful, towering keeper who is very driven and eager to develop. I’m looking forward to working with her.”

But before it was officially announced, they teased fans a little with this tweet:

They couldn’t fool our ladies expert, however, who was able to reply:

And how did he know ahead of the announcement?

Well, Arsenal’s very own Alex Scott had posted a picture on Instagram of the shot list for the Arsenal ladies pre-season photoshoot. Moorhouse’s name had been written at the bottom of the list.

Here’s a screengrab of the post before it was deleted:

Woops.
