The Development team has been draw at home to Sunderland’s Development team in the Cup.

The Sunderland squad lists two players with first team experience as well as regular England youth call-ups, Danielle Brown and Abbey Joyce, and also Poppy Pattinson from the England u17 squad.

Two seasons ago, the Development team was hammered 3-0 by the same Sunderland team in an away semi-final. There are two players in each camp who played in that game and you would expect the Arsenal girls to get their revenge.

The game will be played at the Development team’s home ground at Herts University on 12 March at 2pm. While the other semi-final will be played at Stoke Gifford’s Stadium between Bristol City and Liverpool.

It is expected that a good number of Development team players will be coming back from the La Manga trip with England u19/u23s as many friendlies will be played over there during the international break:

  • 02/03 Sweden u23 v England u23
  • 03/03 France u19 v England u19
  • 04/03 England u23 v USA u23
  • 05/03 Netherland u19 v England u19
  • 07/03 England u19 v Italy u19

Hopefully, there will be no injuries during the international break prior to the game as the squad is quite thin.
