Arsene Wenger held his much awaited press conference on Friday morning.
The manager, who seemed tired and a little more subdued than normal, was still in a relatively bullish mood.
He was, as expected, asked repeatedly about his future. Denying he’d made any decision on his future but confirming one would be made in March or April, he also shocked people by adding that he would still be in management next season – either at Arsenal or somewhere else.
The ‘somewhere else’ really threw a lot of people.
Eventually shutting down the questions on his future, I turned to Twitter to see what Arsenal fans had made of it all.
The reaction, to say the least, was mixed.
I still love him

I wish him to go to Barca next season. But I would be happier if he stays.

Think he's off. Never previously said "if I go" or spoken about managing elsewhere.

He wants to be begged to stay I believe.

Gut feeling says he'll sign on.
— Gaz Roberts (@GazRoberts1) February 17, 2017
he's off to manage elsewhere next season. Would never have made that comment if it wasn't the case
— Luke Webb (@lukewebb12) February 17, 2017
Feels like a deliberate comment so the press fucks off? Dunno. Impossible to read.
— Joseph Parastatidis (@joe_paras) February 17, 2017
He's off
— salaar latif (@salaar_latif) February 17, 2017
Sounds like he is considering a pending offer as he is definite about managing next season here or elsewhere. This is different
