Garth Crooks picked not one single Arsenal player from this weekend’s action in his Team of the Week, which is fair enough, but did Spurs really deserve four?

In fact, from the 11 Crooks selected, only two played in matches that weren’t televised in the UK. It’s almost as if those are the only players he thinks he can pick, making the whole thing pointless. Well, more pointless than it was already.

Tottenham played a pathetic West Brom at home (on TV) and managed to get four players selected. Everton, who thrashed Manchester City got one.

Toby Alderweireld who was selected, picked up a performance score of 7.12 while Laurent Koscielny got 8.19 and Shkodran Mustafi 7.39. I’m not saying Arsenal players were the best of the weekend (I’m not trawling through every team), simply highlighting the stupidity of Crook’s selections. Take a look at Everton – Ashley Williams 7.43, Funes Mori 7.47, and a cleansheet against a far more deadly attack than the Baggies.

As for picking the Liverpool keeper – he got 6.43, David de Gea in the same match 7.10, Ben Foster for West Brom 7.32 despite shipping four, Petr Cech 7.44 and a cleansheet, and Everton’s Joel Robles 7.9 against Manchester City.

Alexis Sanchez, who finished with 8.67 had no place in the team, but Pedro, who picked up 7.9 did.
