Granit Xhaka has told Four Four Two that he hears the Arsenal fans calling for him to shoot every time he gets the ball.

Xhaka announced himself to the world as an Arsenal player with an absolutely stunning strike in the Premier league against Hull. He then followed that up with a carbon copy just three days later, something he was keen to remind the reporter when he was being interviewed.

“Every time  I get the ball, I hear them screaming for me to hit it,” he told FFT.

“Even when I’m on the halfway line I can hear them calling for me to have a shot, but that’s a bit too far out.”

You can’t really blame Arsenal fans.

Arsene Wenger is well known to dislike shooting from range – there is too much luck needed. He prefers players pass to someone better placed.

Often accused of wanting his team to walk the ball into the net, that isn’t too far from the truth. Although he appreciates a worldie like the rest of us, you can’t help think he experiences a little sadness that they opted not to pass instead.

So far, Xhaka has shown no signs of having his desire to shoot drilled out of him, and neither has Alexis. Who knows, perhaps they’re lightening up a little at London Colney and letting the players shoot a little more.

Wouldn’t that be lovely?
