West Ham are reportedly chasing Granit Xhaka’s older brother, Taulant.

The 25-year-old has played for FC Basel his entire senior career, except for a brief loan spell at Grasshopper (2012-13), and has made 158 appearances for the Swiss team in all competitions.

Like Granit, Taulant is a defensive midfielder but can also be played in defense, which appeals to West Ham, and, according to the Mirror, the Hammers are willing to spend £4m in order to bring him to the Premier League.

It would be an interesting move for Taulant considering he’s always played for Basel but probably a beneficial one. It’s a stronger league and a chance of scenery.

Also, he’s far more likely to move to London now that his younger brother is over here and seeing lots of football. Granted, they’re two different players but having your sibling in the same city as you must be appealing.

Granit and Taulant are close and have a lot of admiration for each other. I imagine it wouldn’t be bad for our Xhaka to have his big brother near him.
