Apparently, Arsenal have lined up their second January signing and it’s… *squints eyes* Toby Sibbick?

The AFC Wimbledon defender, who can player both centreback or fullback, is just 17 years old, which explains why many won’t have heard of him, but having signed a new contract with the League One club just recently, the Daily Star understands that he’s very highly rated.

Apparently, West Ham and Watford are also keen on Sibbick, who has so far only featured for AFC Wimbledon’s youth sides. Not their senior team.

Are Arsenal interested?

I don’t see why not. Wenger seems to be keen on dipping into the lower leagues for young players these days since we’ve just signed Cohem Bramall from non-league side Hednesford Town.

We also seem to be stocking up on young defenders.

It’s not as if Toby would be thrust into the senior team at Arsenal and we’re always on the look-out for young talent for the youth teams so why wouldn’t we want him?
