Arsene Wenger has, predictably, claimed that Arsenal will be quiet during the January transfer window.

The boss isn’t one for dipping into the market mid-way through the season unless we desperately need to. Injuries have forced us to in the past but, if he can help it, Wenger seems to like to keep him squad unchanged as the season goes on, often at the criticism from others, including his own fans.

This January is no different.

“I expect it to be a very quiet period because we have Welbeck coming back,” he said. “Offensively we are very strong, we have many players who can come in and overall I don’t expect to do anything special.”

To be fair, I’m not sure who we would buy or what position we need to strengthen right now. We’re far from a perfect squad, obviously, but players are returning from injury and others are keeping fit.

Unless something massive happens against Burnley in the Premier League on Sunday, I wouldn’t expect to see any new faces at London Colney on 1 February.

We’ve already bought Cohen Bramall, for goodness sake, when will you vultures be happy?!!
