Carl Jenkinson is still set for a move to Crystal Palace if they can agree personal terms and Arsenal are set to receive £7m for the player they signed for £956k.

If the report is true it would represent yet another bit of great business from Arsene Wenger. Until his point, the only fee I’d really seen mentioned was £3m. That made sense.

Jenks has 18 months left on his current Arsenal deal. This season, his flaws have been brutally highlighted. Despite needing a right-back thanks to Hector Bellerin and Mathieu Debuchy’s injury problems, Wenger turned to a centreback instead of Jenks. To get close to £7m for him is work of the highest quality.

In other gossip, Debuchy (Marseille) and Yaya Sanogo (Toulouse) were both rumoured to be in France discussing their futures with other clubs.

Sanogo will be available for free this summer. He has been out with a ‘secret’ injury but is not even listed as injured on Arsenal.com and has not been all season despite not featuring in any fashion.
