Arsene Wenger has once again confirmed that he will not be buying anyone during this window, although Carl Jenkinson could still leave even though that’s now looking unlikely.

The boss was speaking to the press ahead of our game on Tuesday night against Watford and with the window closing at 11pm tomorrow, he was naturally asked about any likely arrivals.

“We have a big squad. We are not in the need to buy. And on the general front, it has been very quiet,” he said.

Wenger was also asked about the rumours that he is interested in Karim Benzema but said that he was not thinking of the summer. Asked why he was always linked with the Real Madrid man, he replied simply, “Because he’s French.”

Wenger was then asked if the Jenkinson to Palace deal was ‘dead.’ From Arsenal’s point of view he confirmed, it was not, but he was not sure if it was for the player. He also said that there was “No news about him at all. We are still open, doesn’t look like something will happen.”
