Jon Toral has left Granada on loan to join Rangers in the SPL for the rest of the season.

The Spanish midfielder has worked with ‘Ger’s boss, Mark Warburton, when he was on loan at Brentford and Warburton made Toral his number one target for this window.

It’s unclear why Toral didn’t get the chance to play many minutes while back in Spain, but it’s great to have him closer to home where we can keep an eye on how he is progressing a little bit better.

A statement on the official Ranger’s site, said:

RANGERS are today delighted to welcome Jon Toral on loan from Arsenal until the end of the season subject to international clearance.

The Spanish youth internationalist came through the ranks at Barcelona before switching to the Gunners alongside their current first-team star Hector Bellerin.

While yet to make a competitive appearance for Arsene Wenger’s side, he played on loan under Mark Warburton at Brentford, before enjoying a similar spell at Birmingham City for the 2015/16 season where he won the Supporters’ and Players’ Player of the Year award and also the Goal of the Season gong for a strike against Ipswich Town.
