Wojciech Szczesny is a changed man in Italy and believes that although things are going well, he can still improve.

Now 26, it’s still not clear what his future holds. Arsenal would be mad to let him go, especially given the progress he’s made and how much he has matured since he left two seasons ago for Roma.

Speaking after equalling his personal record for cleansheets at the weekend, Woj told the media, “I am happy with the work of defenders in front of me: for me it becomes easier to prepare, just position myself well in the goal.

“The new line-up with three central Fazio makes a difference.

“We are physically prepared for tough games like these. We are confident, we have to continue like this and improve and I hope that we will win the next game without conceding networks.

“The coach has given me so much confidence. he believes in me and it’s up to me to show I deserve it. I try to give my best for the team.

“This period is going well but I think I can still improve.”

Szczesny’s Arsenal contract expires next summer after he signed a new deal in 2016.
