Torino’s Sporting Director has confirmed that they have rejected an Arsenal bid of £50m for Andrea Belotti as Arsenal seem to be very much in the market for a striker this month.

Arsene Wenger had previously stated that he would not be looking to bring in another forward with the wealth of attacking players at his disposal at the club. But that doesn’t tally with the whispers that are doing the rounds. We’ve already heard from one forward who turned down a move during this window, and now we have this.

“Yes, we received the offer, but it does not reflect the value of the player,” Sporting director, Gianluca Petrachi told Sky Sports Italia.

“Anyway, he is going nowhere for now. We want to enjoy him, then we’ll see what happens.

“We intend to keep Belotti and President Urbano Cairo signed this important buy-out clause. I think he’s worth more than they have offered.”

Belotti’s buy-out clause is believed to be £80m after he signed a new deal with the Italians at the start of December.

23, he has 13 goals and four assists in 16 Serie A games this season.
