Southampton will be without a number of key players for their FA Cup game with Arsenal.

Speaking to the press, manager, Claude Puel, said, “We have a lot of injuries. Still we are without Austin, Targett, McCarthy, Pied, and other injuries with van Dijk, Hesketh.

“Also with Jay Rodriguez and James Ward-Prowse not available it is almost a full team.

“We have possibilities with other players and the rotation since the beginning of the season allows to continue the work and to keep good results.”

Puel also highlighted how Southampton have played three more games this month than Arsenal which is a fair point. They had to play a replay against Norwich in the last round of the cup and also played two-legs against Liverpool in the EFL Cup semi.

Arsenal, meanwhile, welcomed a number of stars back to full training this week and although a few of them won’t be fully fit to play against Southampton, we now only have one player officially injured (Yaya Sanogo is still disappeared with his ‘secret’ injury)
