According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal are yet to open contract talks with Kieran Gibbs, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jack Wilshere, leaving their futures at the club in doubt.

All three players have 18 months left on their existing deals and they’ve all had slight doubts hanging over them for a while. All three are injury-prone but promising and can be brilliant when fit.

Wilshere is the player I have a feeling Arsene Wenger really wants to keep hold of. He’s nurtured him and now he’s keeping fit for Bournemouth, he could return to Arsenal and potentially become a real asset. He’s proven that he can jump over this hurdle, which is huge.

The Ox and Gibbs, however, I’m not quite so sure about. They don’t quite have the potential that Jack has always had and, even now, Gibbs is out injured after a knock on Boxing Day against West Brom.

Is it worth hanging in there and hoping they leap that hurdle like Jack did? Do they even WANT to stay at Arsenal? Only time will tell.
