Following Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Preston North End in the FA Cup, Olivier Giroud was keen to point out in his post-match interview that what we saw in the first half ‘wasn’t Arsenal’.

Just like when we played Bournemouth in the Premier League and ended up having to come back from 3-0 down, Preston scored in the seventh minute, instantly putting the Gunners on the back foot. And they could have scored two or three before half time.

In the second half, we were like a different team, coming back to equalise almost immediately after the break through Aaron Ramsey and then finally winning it through an Olivier Giroud goal in the final minutes.

Speaking afterwards, our big striker explained how Arsenal wanted to come back in the second half and show our strength of character (sigh) as what we saw in the first simply wasn’t Arsenal.

Annoyingly, it was Arsenal, I’m afraid Oli.
