Arsenal’s new 20-year-old full-back, Cohen Bramall, has explained to Sky Sports what his first day at the club was like.

The former Hednesford Town starlet couldn’t contain his smile as he spoke about pulling up to London Colney on his first day and immediately being thrown in with the first team in front of Arsene Wenger.

“I drove in there and I saw the Arsenal Football Club [sign] and everything else,” the youngster explained.

“I was absolutely gobsmacked. It was like a dream.

“I was with the first team on the Thursday and the Friday and my eyes just lit up straight away but I had to do my job.”

He went on to explain his approach to the training session, since obviously he wants to get noticed by the boss for all the right reasons and show him what he has to offer.

“I just played to the best of my ability, using my speed a lot, overlapping from left-back and tried to get my body out there in front of Wenger.”

Although Bramall may not get first team action straight away, the fact that he trained with the senior squad ahead of our trip to Preston North End this weekend is quite telling. The boss, and whoever else was scouting him, clearly has high hopes for the speedy full-back.

On a side note, how down to earth and bright does Bramall seem?
