Former Arsenal striker, Emmanuel Adebayor, has signed for Istanbul Basaksehir.

It wouldn’t be transfer deadline day without Adebayor’s name being at least mentioned and now the 32-year-old has completed his move to Turkish Super Lig side, Istanbul Basaksehir.

The Togo international has been without a club since the summer, when Crystal Palace announced they had released him following his six-month spell there. While there, he made 12 Premier League appearances but only scored once, a far cry from his time at Arsenal when he scored 24 in 36 during the 2007/08 season alone.

Adebayor reportedly also held talks with Besiktas but the Turkish club were unable to meet his wage demands, thought to be in the region of £3m, £1m more than Besiktas were supposedly willing to pay.

Basaksehir are a comparatively smaller club, only drawing a crowd of 2,000, but claims suggest they’re going to push for the title, which, considering they’re in 2nd in the Turkish League just two points behind title rivals Besiktas, shouldn’t be that much of a tall order with the right additions.
