New left-back, Cohen Bramall, has revealed that his main goal now that he plays for Arsenal is to get into the first team.

The former Hednesford Town youngster signed for Arsenal for a reported £40,000 recently and has already been thrown into a couple of training sessions with the first team, most likely so Arsene Wenger can see what he’s about up close.

It seems as if this has given Bramall a taste of what could happen and he likes it.

“In the next six months I want to try and build on keeping the ball, being powerful, and getting my body used to full-time football,” he told Sky Sports.

“Hopefully I’ll go on pre-season with them and try to break into the first team.

“That’s my goal, that’s what I want to do as soon as possible. I’m just going to take everything on board and go for it.”

The 20-year-old, who is said to be even faster than Hector Bellerin, probably doesn’t have that big a job on his hands. This season, Nacho Monreal has struggled to hit the form he’s reached the last couple of campaigns, while Kieran Gibbs has his same old injury problems plaguing him like a bad smell.

With one or even both potentially leaving if not now then in the summer, getting back-up in that area was a wise decision.

I’ve not seen Bramall play yet but I like his attitude. He’s ambitious without being unrealistic; he knows he has to work on playing football full-time before making any wild claims. We need players who are hungry and eager to prove themselves. Good luck to him.
