Bournemouth are appealing Sam Francis’s red card, picked up for a terrible tackle on Aaron Ramsey on Tuesday night.

It’s quite hilarious to think that they are appealing a two-footed, off the ground tackle that could have broken Aaron’s leg had it been planted yet Arsenal declined to appeal Granit Xhaka’s red card for the sending off he picked up under a new rule change that only ever applied to that one challenge.

But there you go.

Bournemouth said in a statement on their official site:

AFC Bournemouth have appealed against Simon Francis’ red card after the defender was sent off during Tuesday’s match with Arsenal.

The 31-year-old was dismissed late in the second half of the 3-3 draw after Michael Oliver ruled he had fouled Aaron Ramsey.
If the appeal is unsuccessful, Francis will miss games against Millwall in the Emirates FA Cup and Hull City and Watford in the Premier League.
The club will hear the outcome by the end of the week.
