Arsene Wenger served the first of a four-match ban against Southampton.

I imagine this was the face he made when Alexis Sanchez was brought on in the 65th minute for no obvious reason.

Wycombe Wanderers put in a good shift against an in-form Spurs at White Hart Lane on Saturday but a last-minute goal from our north London rivals meant the visitors left without the prospect of a replay. As you can see, the man mountain that is Adebayo Akinfenwa was devastated, which is interesting as, despite playing for Wycombe, he’s a Spurs fan.

It just goes to show how much the FA Cup – and the money a replay would have brought to their club – means to the players.

Danny Welbeck made his first senior start for Arsenal in around eight months on Saturday against Southampton in the FA Cup. The striker scored in the 15th and 22nd minute, contributing a brace to the 5-0 scoreline.

It’s great to have him back.
