Arsene Wenger spoke with the press ahead of the game on Tuesday night against Watford and has confirmed that all the players who were left behind at the weekend will be available.

“We have some players to check from Saturday. Players left behind are available,” Wenger said.

This means we should see a return for Petr Cech, Laurent Koscielny, Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey, Olivier Giroud and Francis Coquelin.

Wenger also confirmed that Danny Welbeck is not quite out of the woods just yet, admitting that he is a ‘bit short’ to be used every three days. “He is very sharp but we still have to be cautious with him. We still have to manage him well.

“Where I agree with you, physically he’s ready to play but we still have to manage the times that we use him and the times that we rest him.

“He’s had to be mentally strong. That’s not a gift of God. You go through all kinds of suffering to come back to that level of fitness.

“He has done enough to keep his place but we have to be cautious. I think he is a bit short.”
