Arsenal’s apparent interest in Feirense’s Oghenekaro Etebo has been well reported in the English press but now it’s spread to the Portuguese media as well.

O Jogo are claiming that both Arsene Wenger and Leicester boss, Claudio Ranieri, are keeping tabs on the winger, who’s scored once and assisted once so far this season, which is old news to us but the fact that the gossip has spread to the country he’s playing in means that it’s being taken seriously at least.

It’s possible that we are keeping an eye on the 21-year-old, since it’s unclear what the future holds for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who has just 18 months left on his Arsenal contract and Wenger loves a winger. Just the way the reports are worded – that we’re just keeping an eye on the situation – makes it sound more probable considering they’re not making any huge claims.

The English media already reported that we’ve been scouting the winger, who was named as most promising African player in 2015, from the Portuguese league so I wouldn’t be surprised if the links are indeed genuine.
