Former Arsenal striker, Benik Afobe, reckons that Jack Wilshere should stay at Bournemouth for good.

Wilshere has been developing well under Eddie Howe while on loan at Bournemouth. He’s now a regular starter, has made 17 Premier League appearances and even earned himself an assist.

Former Arsenal teammate, best friend and Godfather to Jack’s kids, Afobe, believes that the midfielder should continue with the Cherries and says that he’s not the only one who thinks so.

“Everyone wants him to stay,” Afobe said. “Everyone knows how good Jack is. We want to attract good players so we have to keep good players.

“It’s is just about him staying fit and showing everyone what he can do. Hopefully he can keep on doing what he can do.

“I think he would have liked a couple more goals, I think he has been unlucky in some situations. He is working hard every day, he is a top professional, and he has brought some life into the squad, not just on the pitch but on the training ground. He is quite loud and quite funny.

“It shows how far Bournemouth have come bringing these sort of player to the club and hopefully we can keep progressing and getting better.”

Saying this, Afobe also admitted that he doesn’t think he Jack knows what he’s doing next season.

I can understand why Afobe wants Wilshere to stay. They’re best friends, grew up together and the midfielder is excelling. He’s staying fit, something he’s not been able to do for as long as I can remember, and getting respect from the fans.

Wilshere’s Arsenal contract runs out in 2018 and I’m sure the club will try and tie him down to a new one. However, the ball’s in his court and I wouldn’t bet against his staying with his old friend at his new team.
