The FA have created a one off series to bridge the gap between seasons but the big question is: will the youngsters get a look-in?

The club has many girls born between 1996 and 1999 who are really talented and came through the youth team’s ranks. Playmaker Carla Humphrey and centreback Vyan Sampson born in 1996, Leah Williamson born in 1997, winger Charlotte Devlin and forward Chloe Kelly born in 1998. All those girls have reached an age where for their proper development, regular football is needed.

Carla Humphrey went on loan last season and achieved that target, there is no doubt, it did her the world of good and she has improved as a player and as a person. You do wonder if those players will get a proper chance or if the new signings will come during the winter transfer window.

It is quite obvious that more players are set to leave the club with the current rumour saying from three to five first team players listed on Arsenal.com could go.

If they are not replaced before the summer transfer window that will last three months, Pedro Losa will surely give playing time to the aforementioned five players. Note that Leah Williamson is of course a first team regular, but she does not have a stable position on the pitch and gets played anywhere really.

There are also the development team players who are born in 1999, like Lotte Wubben-Moy at centreback and Taylor Hinds at left-back, who deserve to get a first team chance. Anna Patten could become the back-up for Alex Scott at right-back.

Should Emma Byrne’s departure be confirmed, Sian Rogers, who was born in 1998, would also be in line for a first team debut in goal and could become Sari Van Veenendaal’s back-up.

It will be interesting if Pedro Losa gives youth a chance or if another batch of signings will be made before April when the spring series starts.
