Arsene Wenger thanked the Arsenal fans in attendance at the Emirates on Boxing Day.

The fans were in fine voice during the 1-0 win over West Brom, despite not scoring through Olivier Giroud until the 86th minute.

The boss believes that their support is what pushed the team over the line.

“I feel our fans today were very good,” Wenger said.

“I would like to thank them because it can be frustrating for them as well in a game like that when you don’t manage to score, so [I hope they can] keep that kind of support behind the team for 2017 and this year as well.

“The team is focused, motivated and united. So if you can add the fans to that, we will be even stronger.”

The crowd at the Emirates has come under its fair share of criticism for not being loud enough. However, it’s refreshing to see it being acknowledged when we are chanting and pushing the players on. While it can be frustrating, while the match is playing, the best we can do is cheer them on.

Obviously, the team has to do their part and give the fans something to cheer for. If they’re barely moving the ball and don’t look like they want to be there, why should the fans?

Hopefully, we can continue getting some positive results and the fans are continue their vocal support.
