Arsene Wenger has revealed how much he loves the festive period in English football.

Unlike the rest of the world, which slows down and takes a break over the festive period, the Premier League kicks it up a notch. Unsurprisingly, perhaps, Wenger bloomin’ loves this, since, you know, he’s obsessed with football.

“It’s where I want to be,” he told Arsenal Player.

“The Christmas period is a present period and for me my present is to be in football.

“That’s what I wanted in my life, so I personally am on a permanent Christmas! Apart from the results when they don’t go well, the rest is happiness to be where I wanted to spend my life.”

It’s good that the boss doesn’t hate the fixture-congested period. Especially considering our results tend to start going downhill around this time.

Many would much rather a winter break, which I’m sure the boss would too. However, he loves the Premier League so much he doesn’t mind.

Arsenal face West Brom at the Emirates on Boxing Day after losing two games to Everton and Manchester City on the bounce. If we’re to stand any chance of winning those points back, anything less than a victory over the Baggies is unthinkable.

Hopefully, the players don’t mind the lack of winter break too much and will be ready to come out fighting.
