Arsene Wenger praised the quality of Arsenal’s bench after Iwobi came on in the 69th minute to score their third goal against Stoke.

Although Iwobi started the 2016/17 campaign strongly, after a couple of months starting for Arsenal’s first team, the 20-year-old fell off the pace and was eventually dropped to the bench as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain hit form.

However, the Nigeria international proved every bit the super sub as he came on with around 20 minutes to go against the Potters and scored Arsenal’s third goal beautifully.

After the match, Wenger praised the quality of our bench.

For a forward who has trouble in front of goal, it was a lovely finish and I’m sure he’ll be proud of it.

Although the visitors weren’t exactly threatening until this point, the third goal put the tie out of sight and secured all three points, boosting Arsenal to top in the Premier League table. That is, until Chelsea play West Brom on Sunday.
