After Arsenal’s 1-0 win over West Brom on Boxing Day, various accounts on Twitter began to report that there had been a row between Gabriel and Lucas Perez, which carried on after the final whistle down the tunnel.

Gabriel, apparently, appeared to be unhappy with Lucas’ lack of tracking back at the end of the match and, being the passionate player he is, was obviously chewing the Spaniard’s ear off.

Following the match, Arsene Wenger was asked about the spat, which he obviously brushed aside.

“I don’t know what it is about, I didn’t see it as well,” Wenger said.

“But they have the South American temper, you know and that can sometimes happen.

“I don’t think that anything bad happened. They are two good friends, two very close to each other so that is already forgotten now.”

Players have argued on the pitch for years and will continue to do so. They’re human. And if Lucas wasn’t tracking back adequately, we need someone to pull him up on it. He only came on for Alex Iwobi in the 71st minute so shouldn’t be tired. Therefore, why would he not be doing his job?

How many times have fans complained about not having players who shout at each other and hold others accountable?

Gabriel was spot on the have a go at the forward.
