Arsene Wenger believes that Arsenal lost to Everton (2-1) on Tuesday night because they didn’t take their chances.

Well, he’s got a point. In other news: water is wet.

Aside from the first 15 minutes, following Alexis Sanchez’s deflected goal, the Gunners were wasteful and without Mesut Ozil being at his best, we didn’t create much.

Arsenal had nine shots compared to the Toffee’s 14. Only one was on target, two were blocked. In fact, it’s quite telling that Alex Iwobi was the only Arsenal player other than Alexis Sanchez to have more than one shot and he came on with only about 20 minutes left of the game!

Speaking after the match, the boss admitted that our wastefulness in front of goal gave Everton hope, which, in turn, spurred them on.

Although it’s a disappointing loss and only our second of the season in the Premier League, I’ll happily write it off as just a bad day at the office. It happens.

What matters now is ‘bouncing back’ against Manchester City at the weekend.
