Arsene Wenger has revealed that Arsenal are also trying to tie Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla down to contract extensions.

While Cazorla’s contract runs out at the end of the season, Oli and the Ox only have 18 months left, the same as Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez. Except, the media only seems to care about the latter two.

Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League clash against Stoke at the Emirates on Saturday, the boss confirmed that the club does indeed want to sign all the aforementioned players to extensions.

“We have a lot of work to do but you are only interested in two cases,” he said.

“We have started talking to Ox. We’ve started with Santi as well and will certainly extend with him. We will work with Giroud as well and on many players.”

While Santi has said that he’s happy in north London and Alex would most likely jump at the chance of a new contract, Oli is another case.

Recently, comments made by his agent heavily implied that although the striker has no plans to move in January, he could be gone in the summer.

“He’s great with the Gunners. He wants to end this season with the Londoners,” he said.

“We are not going to move in the next session of the market.”

Hopefully, the France international decides to stay with Arsenal. Although he’s no Alexis, he’s still a huge part of the squad and it’d be a shame to see him go.
