According to the Telegraph, Danny Welbeck is still on course to return before the end of the year after starting training this week.
The striker has been out since Arsenal’s clash against Manchester City on the penultimate day of the Premier League last season. We drew 2-2 and lost our most in form striker following his return from 10 months on the sidelines through a knee injury.
It would have been tough for Welbeck to take, getting seriously injured so soon after he’d had the best part of a year watching from the stands.
However, it’s about to be over and, if reports are to be believed, he could return in December.
Although I’m in danger of sounding like Arsene Wenger here, we have to remember how long he’s been out for and, therefore, it’ll probably take him weeks to return to fitness. Just because he’s back in training now, doesn’t mean he’ll automatically be ready to play in the Premier League before the year’s up.
Hopefully, he just continues to recover.
