Alexis Sanchez and Nacho Monreal were both selected in Garth Crook’s BBC Team of the Week for the matches that were played this weekend.

After his performance there was simply no way that Crooks could leave Alexis out. A hattrick plus an assist meant that Crooks’ job was easier than normal.

But it was the inclusion on Nacho that caught my attention so I thought I’d check out his stats from the game.

Here is his player dashboard and pass map from that match:

Whoscored.com gave him a rating of 7.06, exactly the same as Gabriel, and lower than Kos and Mustafi.

Monreal had no shots, made one key pass, a 75% pass accuracy, won one of three tackles attempted, made one interception, one clearance and one block. Only Theo Walcott and Petr Cech from the Arsenal starting lineup received a lower overall score.

While I’m always happy to see Arsenal player’s in the Team of the Week, this does just highlight that Crook’s really doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
