Petr Cech has revealed to Arsenal’s website that his best moment of the season so far has been when the Gunners beat his former team, Chelsea, at the Emirates 3-0.

Looking back, I imagine that comfortable win over our London rivals was probably most Arsenal fans’ highlight of the season so far as well!

Goals from Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil all before half time, as well as a solid second half performance, not only secured all three points against a team we’ve notoriously struggled against in the past, it also made a statement. We are one of the big teams and will be challenging for the title.

Although we have put in the odd decent performance since that day in September, none have really matched up.

Speaking to Arsenal player, Cech looked back at the performance and praised our form on the day.

“In these big games, any lead can be significant and we really took advantage in the first half – when we had chances, we scored them and that what made the difference,” he said.

“We got exactly what we deserved because we were brilliant, we were ready to compete and we scored at the right times and didn’t allow them to come back.”

The fact that the former Czech international doesn’t give a hoot about our best game coming against his former club is vaguely amusing.

The 3-0 win over the Blues was one of four clean sheets that Cech has kept this season in 13 appearances.
