Five Manchester City players miss out on the Premier League clash against Arsenal on Sunday.

Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho miss out through suspension, while Vincent Kompany, Fabian Delph and Ilkay Gundogan are sidelined with injuries.

Gundogan comes as a particular blow to the Blues, since it’s now been confirmed that it’s a cruciate knee ligament injury, which means his season is over. He’ll be out for around nine months.

“It’s so so difficult for him, it’s sad for him, we’re going to miss him a lot, it’s unlucky, but that’s football,” Guardiola said.

“Now we need him to feel we are there and wait and come back safe. He’s going to be operated (upon) and be back as soon as possible.”

The former Borussia Dortmund star is going to be a massive miss for City, since the midfielder’s scored three in 10 Premier League appearances and has proved massive for the Blues this season.

As Arsenal fans, we know all too well about cruciate knee ligament injuries and how long they can keep a player out for, not just in terms of healing but rehabilitation as well.

We wish Ilkay all the best in his recovery.

Arsene Wenger admitted that although having Aguero out will give Arsenal more of a chance, we also have players out and can’t take too much from City’s suspensions or injuries.
