Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could make a return as soon as New Year’s Day during Arsenal’s Premier League clash at home to Crystal Palace.

The wide-man limped off during Arsenal lacklustre 2-1 loss away to Manchester City on Sunday with Arsene Wenger stating that he had a hamstring problem after the match.

It was tough for the 23-year-old to take considering this season he’s managed to do a pretty good job of fending off the injuries and he was visibly angry as he threw he shirt off and stormed down the tunnel.

Fortunately, according to reports, the Ox had a scan on Tuesday and the result was better than expected, indicating that although he won’t be able to face West Brom on Boxing Day, he could be available for our home game against Crystal Palace on New Year’s Day.

Here’s hoping that this is the case, not necessarily because we need the Ox fit and in the squad, but because he was on a good path and an injury could detail him. If he’s only out for one game, that’s excellent.
