On this day, in 2012, Arsenal beat Newcastle 7-3 at the Emirates in a 10-goal Premier League thriller.

The Gunners initially went 1-0 ahead through Theo Walcott, who was about to have one of the games of this life against the Magpies.

The forward found himself making one of his characteristic bursting runs up the left flank. He finished neatly, despite Santi Cazorla lying in wait in the area.

However, it didn’t stay 1-0 for long.

Demba Ba, who had already been threatening our goal, put the Magpies of level terms via a deflected free-kick before Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain then put Arsenal 2-1 up. However, his goal was cancelled out by a tap-in from Sylvain Marveaux.

After the Gunners went 3-2 ahead through Lukas Podolski and Ba brought his team, then managed by Alan Pardew, level once again, it seemed as if we would never win all three points.

But we kept going.

Two more goals from Theo to complete his hat-trick, including that infamous third goal in which he really could have gone down and gotten a penalty, as well as Olivier Giroud meant Arsenal stormed to a huge 7-3 win.
