Stoke City boss, Mark Hughes, is hoping to replicate the Potters’ draw away to Manchester United earlier in the season against Arsenal on Saturday.

Stoke’s resilient 1-1 draw at Old Trafford in October was obviously a high point for Hughes as he claims he’s going to try to do the same at the Emirates.

“It’s going to be a tough task, we haven’t done great there in the past,” Hughes said.

“Obviously in the past as a club we’ve struggled to get results at places like Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge, but we’ve been able to do that in recent times. This is the only one left standing so it would be great to get it out the way.”

Unsurprisingly, this suggests that the Potters will be traveling to north London in the hope of a draw, rather than a win.

To be fair, there’s no reason for Stoke to come to the Emirates and try anything other than not to lose.

They’re in ninth place in the Premier League, have enjoyed some decent results this season and aren’t in any immediate danger. A draw away to an in-form Arsenal team, who are currently challenging for the title, is more than enough and if they do lose, it’s no skin off their nose.

You can’t really blame them.
