In an exclusive column for the Sun, Ian Wright has spoken about what’s currently worrying him about Arsenal, and it’s not their ability.

Like most of us, the Arsenal legend was intensely frustrated with Sunday’s display against title rivals, Manchester City.

After going 1-0 up in the fourth minute through a lovely finish from Theo Walcott, who linked up well with Alexis Sanchez, we were cruising.

That is, until the second half when the difference between the two teams’ mentalities became glaringly obvious: City wanted it more than Arsenal.

This is what worries Wright.

“It’s not about ability,” he writes.

“What worries me is their intensity. Or more to the point, the way it seems to be dropping in matches — their inability to find a second goal to kill off a game.

“People tell me they were bullied at Everton last week but don’t give me that.

“They lost at Everton, and to a footballing City side, because their opponents wanted it more. They worked harder. They were more intense.”

I can’t help but agree wholeheartedly. For me, losing 2-1 away to title rivals isn’t much to get upset about and if we hadn’t lost in exactly the same manner to Everton just days earlier, perhaps it would have been easier to take overall.

However, it wasn’t the three points dropped that bothered me, it was the way we dropped them. We looked tired and as if we couldn’t be bothered.

If we can’t get excited about what’s essentially a six-pointer to a rival who have been beatable this season and vulnerable against Arsenal in the recent past, then what can we get excited about?
