Lukas Podolski couldn’t contain his glee on Saturday when his former teammate, Alexis Sanchez, scored a hat-trick during Arsenal’s 5-1 win over West Ham.

The striker, who now plays for Galatasaray, has never hidden the fact that he still keeps up-to-date with how Arsenal are doing and Saturday was no different.

The 31-year-old, who has scored five goals in 10 appearances for Gala this season, firstly exclaimed how Alexis is on fire, complete with emojis. Then, he tweeted an old picture of the two players training together. Cute.

Poldi and Alexis didn’t get too spend much time together, since the Chilean signed for us from Barcelona in 2014 and Poldi quickly went out on loan to Inter Milan before being sold to Gala the following season. However, their brief time on the training field together obviously meant something to the German.

A lot of Gooners still hold Poldi very near and dear to their hearts. He may have been pretty bad at tracking back or…moving in general, but he was a good guy.

During his time at Arsenal (2012 – 2015), he scored 31 goals and assisted 17 in 82 appearances.
