Despite Arsenal losing against Everton 2-1 on Tuesday night, Granit Xhaka was still the passmaster, completing the most passes out of anyone else on the pitch.

The midfielder completed 77 out of his 85 attempted passes, miles ahead of second-place Laurent Koscielny who ‘only’ completed 55.

As you can see, the majority of Xhaka’s passes were forward, rather than sideways, with some impressive long balls across the pitch.

On top of this, the Switzerland international also completed the most passes in the attacking third: 21/26. Although, on a related note, in second place was Alexis Sanchez who attempted 33 passes in the final third but only 17 found their target, demonstrating that even Demi-Gods have ‘off’ days.

Although Arsenal weren’t at the races on Tuesday, Xhaka is still proving a huge part of the team, especially when Francis Coquelin was having a particularly bad day at the office. Unsurprisingly, the Frenchman conceded the most fouls out of any other player: 4.
