Apparently, one of the first signings that Sam Allardyce wants to make as Crystal Palace manager is Kieran Gibbs.

The full-back, who has only made five Premier League appearances so far this season, is reportedly on Allardyce’s radar and with ‘just’ 18 months left on Gibbs’ existing Arsenal deal, the club could be tempted to cash in.

Although I doubt we would get a massive amount of money for Gibbs.

While previously I would have admitted that although it’d be a shame to see the 27-year-old leave, a move to the Eagles could be brilliant for him, but considering how poorly Nacho Monreal has played this season, I’d now say it’d be pretty silly to let him leave.

Although Gibbs was subbed off against West Brom in the 71st minute with a kick to his knee, until that point, he’d been brilliant going forward. Especially during the opening half-an-hour. If he’s not too badly injured, he could even replace Monreal in the starting line-up, in which case, I doubt he’ll want to leave just yet.

At least not in January.
