Antoine Griezmann has been loosely linked with Arsenal for a couple of seasons now but it seems as if he’s happy at Atletico Madrid.

In France Football, people from the 25-year-old’s life were asked to submit questions for the special edition made in celebration of him winning French Player of the Year (2016).

As one of his France teammates, our very own Laurent Koscielny submitted a huge question that most Arsenal fans probably wanted to know:

“If you want to discover a new league, why not do it at Arsenal with us?”

Unfortunately, Griezmann’s reply wasn’t too promising.

“For Arsenal, he speaks to me about them often,” he said.

“But I feel good at Madrid. I do not want to leave. I feel calm here. The little one (baby girl) has just arrived, I am playing matches, I feel good. Sorry, I am going to stay. But Arsenal is a wonderful team. They play great with the ball.”

Goodness, it sounds like Arsenal just asked him out on a date and he’s apologising for not being interested.

The striker has so far scored six goals in La Liga and three in the Champions League this season after impressing at Euro 2016. However, with Alexis Sanchez already on 12 goals for the Premier League, I somehow don’t think we need a new, world class striker.

Saying this, if Alexis doesn’t extend his contract with us, which runs out in 18 months, maybe we’ll have to start looking.
