Julian Draxler is reportedly training alone amid rumours that he could be leaving Wolfsburg in January for Arsenal, PSG or Juventus.

PSG are reportedly in the driving seat to secure the 23-year-old, seeing as their representatives have apparently been in contract with the Bundesliga club since the summer.

And while the German’s €75m release clause isn’t triggered until the summer, making him just €30m right now, according to Le Parisien, Arsenal could still miss out if PSG are serious about signing their target.

As we’ve said before on the site, Arsene Wenger has never made any secret that he’s a fan of Draxler. However, even then, it’s unlikely that the boss would fork out €30m in January for a player we don’t really need.

You could argue that we didn’t ‘need’ Mesut Ozil when we signed him in 2013 for £42.5m but I think most will understand that signing the former Real Madrid playmaker and signing Draxler, who’s made just 11 Bundesliga appearances this season and is apparently training alone, are two very different things.
