All anyone could think when Arsenal were topping their group on Tuesday night was ‘it’s bound to be Bayern Munich in the next round’.

And when I say everyone, I mean, everyone – even the German giants, who tweeted in the early hours of this morning to ask if they should just go ahead and book their travel to London now.

Until the final round of matches are played on Wednesday evening, we won’t have an exact idea of who we could get in the draw when it’s made next week.

But you know it’s going to be Bayern. Or maybe Real Madrid just to mix it up a little.

And do you know, I also feel that this season is going to be different.

Unbeaten on the road in nine months, Arsenal are on a great run at the minute that has seen them lose only two matches all season – the opening day debacle against Liverpool when our squad was a mess and the EFL Cup game against the Saints when we played a weird, disinterested team.

Bayern, meanwhile, are looking far from their imperious best.
