Arsenal are reportedly interested in Sunderland goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford.

The 22-year-old has spent the majority of his career with the Black Cats out on loan; last season, making 24 Championship appearances for Preston North End, in which he kept an impressive 13 clean sheets.

This season, however, the England youth international has only managed two clean sheets in 16 Premier League appearances. He’s shipped 27 goals in that time.

Sunderland look as if they’re set for another relegation battle come May, if not sooner.

Therefore, despite his contract with Sunderland running out in 2020, Arsenal are reportedly looking at him. Although he’s not the only ‘keeper the media are claiming we’re keeping an eye on, leading me to suspect that David Ospina or Wojciech Szczesny is off in the summer. Hopefully, it’s the first of the two. No offence, Dave.

Is Pickford any better than the shot-stoppers we have? I don’t think so. In fact, although I could be wrong, I’m much more inclined to believe he wants to leave the Black Cats, should they get relegated, and word’s been put out. I’d be surprised if we were legitimately interested.
