According to Portuguese outlet, A Bola, Arsenal and Liverpool were both at Porto’s recent match against SC Braga on Saturday in order to watch Andre Silva.

The 21-year-old striker has scored seven goals in 12 Liga NOS appearances and assisted two this season. He’s also been capped four times for Portugal and scored four goals. Nice.

Although he failed to score during Porto’s 1-0 victory over Braga on Saturday, we’re obviously aware of him if we’re scouting him along with Liverpool.

So what’s the problem? Andre is contracted with Porto until 2021 and his release clause is – drum roll please – a whopping €60m. Yeah, sure, Arsene Wenger will pay that for a 21-year-old sure…NOT.

Although a release clause isn’t the be all and end all of any transfer deal, I doubt the Portuguese club will let him go for much less considering how highly they obviously rate him.

I’m sure Arsenal (and Liverpool) were at the game on Saturday. There’s no smoke without fire. But it’s more likely just curiosity rather than serious intent at this stage.
