Arsenal welcome Crystal Palace to the Emirates on Sunday for the first match of 2017.

Under the stewardship of Sam Allardyce after Alan Pardew’s sacking just before Christmas, there’s still enough animosity between the managers to keep things interesting.

Palace currently sit 17th in the league with 16 points from 18 games, so it’s not hard to see why they got rid of Pardew. One could ask how he managed to last so long and credit to the Eagles for not pulling the trigger sooner and trying to give a manager a chance.
