Per Mertesacker has revealed what he’s doing in order to return to fitness: yoga.

This isn’t the first time the big German has spoken about his love of the relaxing exercise. Back in May 2015 he said:

“I tried to prepare even more – more yoga, more treatment, to come to a level where I can compete again. It took half a year.”

Now, it appears the centreback is using the stretches to return to fitness after being sidelined for months with a serious knee injury that required surgery.

The big guy is due back in the new year and although he won’t be first choice anymore, from my point of view, it’ll be good to have his positive attitude back in the squad.
